ATHENS物联网软件订制开发, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) announced on Monday that it has asked a Greek athlete participating in the Paris Olympics Games to leave the Olympic Village after testing positive for doping.

HOC, according to the official announcement, was notified earlier on Monday by Greece's National Anti-Doping Organization (EOKAN) that the athlete tested positive and therefore immediately is suspended on a temporary basis.

According to the rules, the relevant athlete, who was not named, has the right to request a new sample test, questioning the result.

Pole vaulter Eleni-Klaudia Polak, 28, who competed in the Games and failed to advance to the final, told Greek national news agency AMNA on Monday that "a substance originating from the consumption of meat was found in a urine sample."

The Greek female athlete added that the test was conducted before her participation and the "result showed that the substance was within acceptable limits" therefore she received the green light to compete.

Polak said that she has never used even nutritional supplements.

It is the second time within a month that EOKAN announced a Greek athlete having won a ticket to Paris 2024 tested positive for doping.

The first time was on July 16, before the Greek national team's departure for Paris. The name was not disclosed also in that case.
